Annual Easter Egg Hunt

large_Easter_Egg_Hunt_Logo1Yes, it is that time of year again!

This year's hunt will be held on Wednesday, March 20th at 5:30 p.m. We will host children from the community for dinner, an egg hunt, fun activities, visiting with furry friends and the Easter message of God's redeeming love.

We need a lot of helpers on hand to help make this event fun and safe for everyone and we need donations so we have plenty to share with our visiting neighbors. Please consider our list of needed items and clearing your schedule to help us out for an evening of great fun for everyone.

Items Needed

  • SOME Plastic Eggs–we have some left over from last year, but we do need a bit more
  • Individually Wrapped Candy to stuff the eggs
  • Hard Boiled Eggs to dye as an activity for the children
  • Cookies and Brownies to serve as dessert with dinner
  • Gifted Thespians to help bring the meaning of this special holiday to children
  • Helping hands to serve/clean up a simple meal
  • People who love children to help everyone feel safe, welcomed and loved

This will be our third year to host this event and each year it gets better and better. Last year there were more than a few who truly delighted in watching a young boy teach his Hispanic mother and little sister how to dye eggs and witnessed their joy and wonder at the beautiful creations they made together. Many of the children and families we welcome to this event are not regular church-goers, so this is our opportunity to take part in the redemption story. By sharing our faith message of God's greatest love with our community, we open ourselves to the opportunity of becoming God's hands and heart to the children who walk through our doors. This is our calling to plant seeds of faith in the hearts of the young and to cultivate those seeds each time we develop another way to bring them back to our doors.

The enchanted faces of the children we welcome are testimony to the love we share with others….and they will know we are Christians by our love…

Blessings,
Tracy
