Baptism Class

A class is offered each spring for children and youth who are preparing for their baptism. The class is conducted by the senior and associate ministers. The subject matter taught includes:

  1. The meaning of baptism.
  2. The three questions asked as a profession of faith and what they mean.
  3. An overview of the Bible and how to use it.
  4. How to pray and what to expect from your prayer life.
  5. How the church reaches out and serves the world.
  6. All about First Christian Church including tours of our awesome towers and the mysterious underbelly of the church.
  7. A trip to our spiritual roots at Cane Ridge in Bourbon County.
  8. Sometimes we take an overnight trip as part of the class.
  9. Receiving a blessing on Easter Sunday at Cane Ridge during the Easter Sunrise Service.
  10. And more.

The class meets during the Lenten Season on Wednesday afternoon from 4 – 5:30 p.m.
