Final Words from the Cross

final wordsThis year’s Lenten journey begins a little late due to the huge snow event that has thrown our calendar off by a week. At some point we will need to figure out how to catch up, but for now, let us begin our Lenten journey together.

Christian Education Team chose Adam Hamilton’s, Final Words from the Cross as our joint Sunday school study material. Hamilton takes us week-by-week through Jesus’ last words spoken, as recorded in the Bible, words spoken as he hung from the cross, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” We will use the last seven statements he made before departing this world as our guide through Lent.

Join us each week in Fellowship Hall for donuts, coffee and a joint session to view the video together. After viewing, each class will depart for their own discussion time. The Hanna Class will meet in the Fellowship Hall. Middle and High School youth will also use this Lenten study, but the children will continue with their own curriculum.

It is our hope that as we journey towards the cross together, we grow closer to one another and closer in our understanding of grace. It has been said that one can never fully know grace until one fully understands the need for it.

Blessings,
Tracy
