Jeff's Journal

On Monday, George Kissick, Ellen Cook, Nesmer Cook and I worked all day to help prepare Camp WaKonDaHo for the summer camping season. This is the place of a spiritual epiphany for me when I was 12. I encountered God here in a way that goes far beyond my ability to tell you in words. The closest I can approximate the feeling is the word — oneness. For me this is hallowed ground.

Today, the staff from The Well and I received Boundaries training in Frankfort. Such training helps us as Christian leaders, understand how we can best help the people we have been called to help. Such training guides us to identify when we are meeting the needs of God's people and when we are just meeting our own needs. The staff at The Well thought it would be helpful for them to take this training which is required for all Disciple ministers. I am privileged to serve in this ministry with five wonderful people of deep faith and good humor.

On Sunday, we walk for The Well. We will raise money for the woman who sat in my office today, wiping away tears of embarrassment because she doesn't like to ask for help and has rarely had to do so. Many will not be able to walk, but if you could, come to the kickoff just to support us. You don't have to walk, just be there.

Tomorrow, I return to WaKonDaHo to put in some more work pressure-washing and doing other things which need to be done. Travis Cook and Bob Parker will join us.

Have a great week.

Moving to the deeper place,

Jeff
