Please read: Philippians 2:8; Matthew 23:11-12; Micah 6:8

He was called Savior, Son of God, Prince of Peace,

   Everlasting Father, Wonderful Counselor, Son of Man,

   Lord of Lords,

      and yet,

his appearance was ordinary,

   he invited working class folks

   to serve with him in ministry,

      he bowed to wash feet,

      he was born in a barn,

         to unassuming parents.

      he did not resist arrest,

      protest injustice at trial,

      or respond when questioned

         by Pilate and Herod.

He did not call forth bodyguards

   or vigilantes in his defense.

He showed up in out of the way places

   to marginalized people and loved them.

And yet, he became the most significant

   person in the history of the world, calling

   us to love and uplift all those around us.

This is humility.

Moving to the deeper places,
