Please read Matthew 4:1-11

This is trouble.

  Jesus is alone,

   in the wilderness.

      Really alone.

There, at his weakest point,

  hungry and tired,

      the devil came for a talk.

"IF you are the Son of God…"

   Oh, how we want to be

   known for who we really are.

   Stroke my ego.

      The devil said, "Do magic!"

      Jesus did not fall for it.

 

Next, again, "IF you are the Son of God…"

   Again a pointless and silly requirement

    was presented, "JUMP!

   Jesus didn't fall for it. (Get it? Didn't fall for it)

 

Finally, the devil pulled out all the stops,

   except it was probably a lie anyway.

Who wants to be the ruler of the world?

   What a headache. But it sounded good.

   Jesus didn't fall for that one either.

 

Hungry and tired and lonely,

   Jesus proved one thing.

   He had fallen for YOU.

      This love is powerful.

 

Imagine being chosen as the one he loves

   over all the kingdoms of the world.

That is what he did for you

   in the desert for a month

      and ten days long ago.

 

On your worst day, think of this.

 

Then what?

   My guess is lunch.
