…The remaining debt on the renovation is approximately $37,000.

…The church recently purchased a used John Deere riding lawn mower and gave it to Angelino in gratitude for his continuing work in the church yard. It was the mower someone had been letting him use for no charge to mow the church yard.

…This past Sunday, we had 157 people in worship.

Mary Ann Smith impressed me this week when she asked me when we would be taking our mission trip. Mary Ann is a resident of Bourbon Heights and reads her newsletter from cover to cover several times each week.

…We were able to enjoy fresh strawberries a few weeks ago from the garden of Charlie Tingle. His garden is still bearing good fruit, though Charlie has been gone from us for about a year and a half.

Sims and LeeAnn Frank are celebrating their 9th anniversary this week.

The Reverend Will Campbell, author of the book “Brother to a Dragonfly”, died this Week. He was a powerful advocate for civil rights, but lived a simple and humble life on his small farm in Tennessee.

…The General Assembly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will be held in Orlando, Florida, July 12-17. Representing our church will be Tracy Parker, Dianne Stubblefield, Peggy and Warren Hickman and Jeff, Susan and Chad Bell.

… The Deacons meeting last Saturday was dedicated to the memory of Minnie Fryman, a faithful deacon in the life of our church.

…There were twenty people who picked up trash in Millersburg Saturday, raising over six-hundred dollars toward the refurbishment of the bells. Myra Miller organized the event and Tony Denniston arranged the pick-up, providing orange vests. Bob Parker, Greg Smart and Carolyn Barlow, drove around Millersburg, transporting the workers.

…No one should go hungry in Paris. Here are the known food assistance programs: W.I.C. – Women infants and children program; Food Stamps, Operation Food Basket – three days a week, including a voucher for Ken’s;  Free school breakfast and lunches; The Backpack program sending food home with children on weekends. Senior Citizens boxed food in the winter; Paris Church of Christ pantry through God’s Food Pantry; River of Life distribution
once a week through God’s Food Pantry; First Baptist Church, free meal once a month; Central Baptist Church, free meal once a month; Pentecostal Church on 8th Street, free food distribution once a month; Food cards for the homeless staying at local motels; Free food at vacation Bible schools; Summer feeding program through the public schools; plus any number of people who pay for meals out of pocket and restaurants who occasionally feed the hungry. We live in a generous community.

Eric Toohey has been deployed to Washington, D.C. with the United States Army for several months.

Jackson Livingood has gone to Minnesota to visit his aunt Keri and uncle Timm and to work in their Bear Creek Kennel for three weeks.
