Please read Matthew 1:18-25

mirclesThink about this:

If you don’t believe in miracles hold on to your hat.

Joseph had the courage to ask Mary to be his wife.

Mary became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

It is recorded that Joseph did not understand. (Think about the will of God being done and the characters in the telling of the story do not understand). We would never write the story this way.

An angel comes to Joseph in a dream. (I don’t think I have ever received an insight or direction in a dream.)

What is an angel? I have never seen one.

The information Joseph received was the most fantastic, incredible, hardly believable information you could never imagine.

This was all to fulfill a prophecy by someone he had never met named Isaiah.

God is with us. How does this happen in a newborn baby?

Joseph OBEYED what he heard in this mysterious, wild dream.

Mary and Joseph were married.  (That marriage works is a minor miracle.)

Knowing that your life is directed by an outside Source in a magical, mysterious way apparently without historical precedent, and going with this is amazing.

That the gospel writer could look back and retrieve this information in such great detail may be a miracle that ranks up there with the Immaculate Conception.

Then, being able to tell this part of the story in eight verses, EIGHT VERSES, is hard to believe.

On top of that, there is still Luke 2:1-20 to read. WOW!

Believe that when God goes to work, miracles happen.

Have a wonderful Christmas rich with God’s blessed miracles.

Those miracles reworded sound like this:

*Be open to God’s surprise.

*Listen when the Spirit speaks.

*Agree with God.

*Let God do a good work in you.

*Dream.

*Pray about what “God with us” means for you.

*Get some sleep.

*Name the goodness God brings forth in your life.

Have a blessed Christmas,
Jeff
