Please read Romans 12:1-13

What would be the least, the very least that someone should expect when they come to the church?  The very least?

How about a smile and a welcome substantial enough to reassure them that they have not come to the wrong place.

What is the most they could possibly expect?

Well, if you read Romans 12:1-13, you might answer “genuine love and mutual affection.”

Further, the most that could be expected would be to be treated with “honor,” and treated that way with a fair amount of  “zeal” or enthusiasm.

Then, what could be expected is to be given an opportunity for meaningful “service” using the gifts you have been given.

We are trying to grow in our ability to “let love be genuine,” not that it isn’t for the most part, but we are seeking to grow in our depth of understanding as we seek to perfect this “genuine love.”

“Greeting and welcome” are two parts of our evangelism priority for our church.

Someone once said, “A stranger is just a friend I haven’t met yet.” Are we able to see those who come through our doors with such bright, optimistic hope?

Here comes  a friend. Now, just who are they?

We don’t need “new members”.

We need to build the body of Christ in unity and love for the mutual support of those gathered here.

We need a tightly knit group of friends who are yet open to others who come our way.

We need those who are excited about the new souls who are seeking genuine love” and holy friendship.

Our community outreach event on September 24th, will give us an excellent chance to practice our smiles and our genuine love on those who come to join us that day.
