Summer Fun at Camp!
IT’S TIME! IT’S TIME! TIME to get those summer camp registrations in so we can all gather by the tree at Wakon’ Da-Ho and share in the glory of God’s creation with our friends from across the state!
May 1st is the deadline for the Early Bird registrations for the summer camp season. Registrations postmarked May 1st and prior will receive a $15 discount on registration fees. In today’s economy, $15 could really help meet our families’ budget needs. In fact–$15 could go a long way in meeting the church’s budget needs. Maybe get those registrations in early and offer that $15 savings as part of your over-and-above giving to help meet the church’s budget.
The church has historically offered to pay half the camp fees for each camper participating in the summer camping programs. We will continue to honor this tradition in spite of the stretched budget year that we are currently facing. As the economy is fragile and each of us faces difficult decisions when it comes to making ends meet with our incomes, the church is no different from each of you in respect to the affects of recessions and rising prices of gasoline and goods. We strive to continue to offer the same benefits to our campers as we have in the past, but this becomes more and more difficult in these lean years.
Camp fees at the discounted rate are $170. This year, we ask that you please consider paying the full cost of registrations for your campers if you are so fortunate to have enough money left over in your budget. Some families have several children of camp age who would like to participate in the summer camp programs, so as you can see this can become quite costly. Many of you have enjoyed camp experiences in your youth or have children who grew up going to Camp Wakon’ Da-Ho (or other camps) each year. If you do not currently have a camper in your family, please consider sponsoring the camp experience for a youth whose parents may have need of help in raising the funds for this blessed experience for their children. It is our greatest desire to make the camp experience available to each and every child and youth wishing to go.
