Summer Fun Week with Hospitality

Well the week got off to a slow start! Unfortunately we did not have enough participants to make the trek to Corbin to visit Christian Church Homes. Things picked up considerably the next day, when we traveled to Carlisle, KY to visit the home of Jim and Katie Haag for a day of swimming and floating in the lake. Thank you so much, Jim and Katie, for a wonderful day of hospitality.

Curriculum for church camps this summer is based on the question, "Got Spirit?" Each day campers explore God's spirit through keywords like: Wonder, Generosity, Hospitality, Gratitude, Worship and Love. Our High School kids, who attended church camp, were reminded of Wednesday's lessons on Hospitality while visiting the Haag home. They assumed that I concocted the day's events and were so pleased to know they were invited.

Jesus lived the example of what it means to be hospitable by welcoming all God's people to him. We live that example today in so many ways as well, most especially by being a congregation who Welcomes All God's People.

There are so many small ways you show God's love to others. Thank you all for the many wonderful ways you love the children and  youth of First Christian and the ways you love me!

Blessings,
Tracy
