Valentine’s Wedding Vow Renewal Celebration

Saturday, February 11th at 3 p.m. we will be offering a chance for couples interested in renewing their wedding vows to do so with other like-minded couples and then to enjoy a celebration reception in fellowship hall hosted by the church. This event will also be opened to the public.

Rev. Jeff Bell and I will be officiating services for interested couples and their friends and family who choose to join them on this special day. Following the Vow Renewal Ceremony, a reception of cupcakes and punch will be shared with our guests. There are many reasons why couples choose to renew their wedding vows: sometimes its after an extended period of struggling through life, sometimes its because their original wedding was a blur of planning and they weren’t fully able to enjoy it, sometimes its because someone special was not able to be at the original wedding, sometimes its an effort to remind the self of a commitment that was made long ago and to renew that commitment, sometimes it is simply out of a surge of love for one another. No matter the reason, we’re going to be available to these individuals to seal their love and commitment to one another as a part of this year’s celebrations of love for Valentine’s Day.

We will end this celebration with a prayer ceremony in the sanctuary where all those who renewed their vows, and their guests, will pray: for couples who are in the midst of divorce, for couples who are struggling to hold their relationships together, for men and women who find themselves widowed and struggle with the fact that they are no longer a part of a couple, and for those individuals who always wanted to make a love-connection, but for various reasons, it never happened.

If you and your spouse are interested in renewing your vows, if someone you know might be a good candidate for our celebration, please let us know. We’d love to include you and your friends in this celebration.
