Jeff's Journal 2010 - 2018

We awake.

We awake.

The heart then moves us on the tender feet of compassion into the lives of those who need a word, a touch, a kindness, to be refreshed, reset, reminded of the presence of God’s healing love,
ever-present and everlasting.

We awake.

The morning sun evaporates gradually, hopefully, walking the night to the edge of the world and wishing it a good day – with a smile, as the darkness will return and wish the day a good night before long.

We awake.

Then there is another awakening. We awaken to the spiritual presence of the living God in Christ Jesus our Lord. We awaken to the knowledge that we are the beloved, created in the image of the Divine, outfitted for the adventures of the day, safely enfolded in his grace and peace.

We awake to the new day yawning, the call of the mockingbird, night coolness rising into the warmth of the day.

We awaken to the light which is around us and within us.

We awaken to contemplate, meditate, pray, read and await silently, the magnificent glory of God which comes with patience. It does.

We awaken to set our course, raise our sails, capture the energy provided and use it to move forward. Like the sailboat, we are not equipped to move backwards.

We awake.

Overflowing with gratitude, infused with love, absorbing God’s wisdom, we rise to become, once again, the active children of a living God.

Rejoice, give thanks and sing.

This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
