Are You Ready?

Is everyone ready for a Big Jungle Adventure? This summer’s VBS program will be a great time for kids to grow in faith as they explore God’s Word! Kids will grow in faith as they help each other learn with memorable activities. They will meet five animals that will help them remember the Bible stories—Kiki Kob; Humphrey Hippo, Bobo the Mountain Gorilla; Flash the Cheetah; and Ruby the Turaco Bird.

As part of our Big Jungle Adventure, we share God’s blessings with a mission project. This year we will be collecting comfort items for PAWS—Paris Animal Welfare Society. These items help keep the animals healthy and comfortable while they await their new homes. Examples of items to donate are: hand sanitizer, liquid soap, paper towels, towels and blankets, dog collars, chewies, cat and kitten toys, treats, pet beds, cleaning supplies, air fresheners, and gift certificates for Wal-Mart or pet stores.

We pray that Big Jungle Adventure gives us opportunities to introduce children and their families to Christ and to our church. We hope to help our own children grow in their faith in Jesus while reaching out to children in our neighborhood and helping out a local community organization. This makes VBS a key outreach ministry in our congregation and our local community.

You can make this year’s VBS program a huge success and help us meet our Big Jungle Adventure goals by providing support in one or more of these ways…

Pray for our volunteers and the children and families who participate.

Enroll your children or grandchildren in Big Jungle Adventure and invite friends and neighbors to join us. Our website www.firstchristianchurchparis.org will soon have an online registration feature. Or, you can register any Sunday between now and VBS week.

Volunteer to help. There are many jobs, even if you can’t be here during VBS week.

Donate supplies to offset expenses. Watch future church publications for lists of needed materials.

Thank you for your continued support of Christian education and outreach in our church. May God bless our partnership in the Gospel, as we lead children closer to God through Jesus Christ.

Blessings, Tracy
