Acolyte

The word acolytes is taken from an ancient Greek word that meant companion attendant, or helper. An acolyte will bring the light of Christ into the church service. They will light the candles on the lord’s table. This will remind the congregation that the lord is with us as we worship. Once the service is coming to an end, the acolytes will take the light from the candles on the Lords table and lead us out of the service. This is to remind the congregation to take the light of Christ out into the world.

Youth 3rd grade and up, who would like to be an acolyte will go through a training. This training takes place  with the paster and youth director on the importance of this special role they have in church service. We usually have a training every few years.
