Exciting Times in the Life of the Church

calendar piecesSo many things are coming up as a result of this recent Staff Planning Retreat: many wonderful opportunities to gather for worship, fellowship and learning; many wonderful opportunities for so much more congregational participation; and many wonderful opportunities to stretch ourselves to grow and serve in our community and the world!

Here are just a few options available to people of faith of all ages in the very near future…

  • Monday Ministry Madness! Who is crazy enough to gather the youth and elderly of FCC together at one time and place? We are!! The first Monday of every month (4-5 p.m.) I, Rev. Tracy Parker, will take 2-3 youth and one other adult leader from the church to visit church shut-ins. Our first outing is scheduled for February 4th.
  • Sunday, February 24th following Worship, Chi-Rho Youth will gather in Fellowship Hall for lunch and then proceed to Lexington for Skating fun for several hours. Youth are asked to bring $2 each to offset the cost of skating/rentals and snack/drink money as needed. We will return to the church by 5:30 p.m.
  • Food & Faith Small Group Study and Pasta Party will be February 26th at 5:30 p.m. Group participants will bring one ingredient and a box of zipper-locking freezer storage bags (or other storage-type containers) to take home their creations. They will gather in the church kitchen for Bible study and then commence creating as many pastas as supplies will allow. Once their noodles have dried and their thirst for fellowship is quenched, they will divide up and carry their goods home to be used in later recipes from their hearts. Each participant will be asked to share a portion of their noodles with others in communal meals or as gifts of love to someone outside our church family.
  • Family Game Night & Fellowship Meal on March 6th at 5:30 p.m. More information regarding this gathering will be forthcoming, but plans are underway. We've held events like this in the past and it has always been great fun for everyone. Join friends and family around our tables for games for EVERY age!

This is just the tip of the iceberg for the great things we can do together as we walk this faith journey of fellowship at First Christian Church.

Blessings,
Tracy
