Hodgepodge…

There is a letter in this newsletter thanking you for your over-and-above gifts to help us recover from extraordinary winter expenses.

While I deeply appreciate every gift, I was very touched by the phone call this week which expressed a desire to make sure we reached our goal. They simply said, “Let me know how short we are.” They were called and told how much we still needed after Sunday’s offering. A check was delivered the next day.

The seminar on human trafficking held Tuesday night, was a fine presentation on a serious problem in our state and nation. We were asked to be aware of people who may be held against their will for work or sexual performance.

Representative Sannie Overly did a masterful job of passing a human trafficking bill in the legislature.  Marissa Castellanos, presented the issue using stories and issue oriented information. She made us aware in very poignant ways, of how trafficking destroys lives and robs people of their dignity.

Thanks to our women’s fellowship groups and Tracy for arranging this amazing seminar.

You will want to be present on Sunday after worship for Ashley Lowe’s presentation on her mission experience in Guatemala. You will hear a young woman who takes her faith very seriously. Thanks again to all of you who contributed to make her trip possible.
