“2015” Flood

The recent flash flooding in Paris affected some 80 households.

Those who were not touched by the epic, “100”year flood in 1997, had 18 inches to 2 feet of water in their homes.

Here is what we are doing: The Board approved making funds available for church members.

On Sunday, without any appeal, you gave $500 for flood relief. Those who would like an opportunity to give to flood relief may do so this Sunday. Mark you checks: “flood relief.”

The Bourbon County Ministerial Association has designated several thousand dollars for flood relief. We are applying it to situations as we are made aware of them.

On Saturday, we spent about $750 to prepare and deliver lunches to area residents in the flood zones.

We thank George Kissick for creating this opportunity and organizing a group of about 15 who participated.

I will say, if you have twin mattresses and/or recliners you would be willing to donate, there is a family that needs them.

We continue to monitor the need in the community and respond to it as we become aware of it.
