5th Sunday Faith-Family Celebrations
The Christian Education team would like to promote events throughout the year to encourage fun and fellowship for all of our faith family…all ages and stages of life and both biological and non-biological connections. It is our intent to plan events whenever a calendar month offers us a 5th Sunday.
The first such opportunity comes to us on October 29th. We know families with young children will be having all sorts of parties and celebrations with the theme of Halloween, so we didn’t want to over-do what is already over-done. But, we still wanted to come together for some fun and fellowship.
We propose a 5th Sunday Game Night for our first Faith Family Celebration. Christian Education Team will provide pizzas and drinks for everyone. We will take care of set-up and clean-up. We just need you to SHOW UP! We’re looking for volunteers to lead a table playing a game for the night and providing the dessert for your table mates. If you love playing dominoes, monopoly or card games, why not invite a few old friends and a few new ones to sit with you playing your favorite game for an evening of fun? If you need to teach a few people how to play the game…that would be even better! Plan for a table of eight. Think about inviting some who might be new-ish to the congregation. Consider reaching out to some old friends whose attendance might have dropped off some. Reach out to those introverts! They’re thinking it won’t be something they’d enjoy. Encourage them to come so we can prove them wrong!
If you have a favorite game you want included or if you just need to show off your insane scrabble skills, and are interested in hosting a table, please call the church office or call text of email Tracy Parker or Judy Otte, Christian Education Chairperson (and the brain from which this idea blossomed).
Blessings,
Tracy
