Big Jungle Adventure

I joined this congregation in June of last year amidst an incredible time in the life of the church. We were heavily into the process of renovating our education space and trying desperately to find ways to continue the educational ministries of the church throughout all the construction mess and confusion. Because of logistics and my mid-year arrival, the Christian Education team thought it best to forego Vacation Church School for the 2010 summer.

     Now all the mess and confusion of construction is behind us, it's my pleasure to share with everyone the plans for this Summer's Vacation Church School and invite you all to join in on the fun! We will be celebrating with a Big Jungle Adventure June 20-24th. A light supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. and programming will run from 6-8 p.m. Our biggest need right now is you! We're actively searching for volunteers to put this program together.

     Our Big Jungle Adventure Vacation Church School needs great volunteers who are willing to help kids grow in faith as they explore God's Word. Volunteers needed are as follows: tribe leaders, media helpers, kitchen directors and helpers, craft leaders and helpers, a music leader, game leaders and helpers, someone who can direct storytelling each evening and recruit actors/actresses. We'll also need actors and actresses to bring each evening's stories to life!

     If you'd rather help behind the scenes we'll need help transforming our sanctuary space and classroom space into our jungle theme, or perhaps you have gifts for publicity–help us get the word out to everyone what a great time Vacation Church School is and invite everyone to come along. Maybe you'll not be able to help with Vacation church school personally, but would be willing to help sponsor the event. Pulling together a weeklong program, providing food for so many as well as materials and supplies comes at a cost. Your help with monetary contributions to Vacation Church school is also greatly appreciated. And, I must add, prayers for the program and volunteers are always welcome.  There are many, many ways to get involved this summer. I look forward to working with each and every adult and child in the planning and implementing this year's Vacation Church School program.
