Business as usual!
The air is clear.
The sun is bright.
Children play in our yard.
Birds play on the lawn.
The sky is almost clear.
People are going about their business.
The phone rings.
Someone with six kids, who is working needs assistance with a utility bill. We can’t pay it all. We will try to help with some of it.
Bible Study is about to gather. We have been together for 18 years.
Another person just showed up for rental assistance. She was told that I could meet with her at 8:30 tomorrow. She said she could not meet with me then. I said, “I am sorry.”
Tracy, Dianne and I will go to lunch with Charlie Gudgell today at noon. We always enjoy lunch with Charlie.
Worship teams were formed for Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas last night. People are excited about having input into our worship experiences. We opened a new resource online from the Worship Design Studio and the teams are excited about having access to this creative treasure trove of ideas.
On Sunday, the Renewal Teams met. One outcome was a suggestion that the deacons meet and reconfigure the expectations we have from deacons.
That meeting will take place on August 10, at 5:30.
These are the days we are made for. Let us rejoice and be glad in them.
