Hospitality
When the church began meeting in homes
after the day of Pentecost,
scripture tells about the warm
hospitality they shared with each other.
There was food and they met each other's
needs, even if they had to sell their own
belongings to do so.
When Peter's mother-in-law was healed from
a fever, she immediately got up and began
to serve Jesus and his disciples.
Jesus attended a wedding in Cana of Galilee,
where he turned the water into wine, so that
the family could continue extending
hospitality to their guests.
Hospitality is a major concern of Jesus.
He is not much into tolerating folks.
He is all about loving them and making
a place for them at the table.
Our first priority on October 14, is to
extend hospitality and love to those
we have invited to join us for worship
and/or our Community Fun Day which
begins at 1 p.m.
All day, that day, I request that you think
of one thing above all — Christian hospitality.
Welcome all God's people, enthusiastically.
Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
