Jeff's Journal
Have you read Proverbs lately?
There are some interesting verses
with the power to teach and to make
you laugh at the way they are written.
"Go to the ant you lazybones; consider its ways,
and be wise." We understand it, but find
the way it is worded to be even funny.
"Like someone who takes a dog by the ears
is one who meddles in the quarrel of another."
True? It can be. But funny in the way it is said,
absolutely.
There is powerful wisdom in the Proverbs.
"My child, keep my words and store up
my commandments with you; keep my
commandments and live, keep my teachings
as the apple of your eye…"
"A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh
word stirs up anger." So true.
"My child, do not despise the Lord's discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
for the Lord reproves the one he loves,
as the father the son in whom he delights."
Take some time to read through the Proverbs.
There are rich nuggets of truth waiting for you there.
Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
