Jeff's Journal
There have been a series of "perfect days," lately.
A perfect weather day consists of moderate temperature,
low humidity, warm sunshine, cool nights
and gentle breezes.
Reframe your thoughts and think
about a perfect day spiritually.
You rise and think first about the gift of another
day from God, the Creator.
You take time to speak with him and listen
by reading a portion of a Psalm or writing
in a journal some hopes for the day.
On your list of things to do, you include:
Forgiving an enemy.
Telling someone you love them.
Doing something supportive for a suffering person.
Taking a quiet moment at midday to refocus.
Loving someone who cannot reciprocate.
Spending time bettering the community.
Worshipping with your church.
Giving your resources and time away.
Smiling at a co-worker (and everyone else too)
Singing a hymn under your breath
Making a phone call to uplift someone.
Being cheerful.
Oh, a perfect day is more than barometric pressure
and blue sky.
The perfect day is who you are and what you do
within the day you are given as you serve
the people Jesus loved so much.
Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
