Jeff’s Journal
You put me on a pedestal
by creating a statue in my honor.
The likeness is remarkable
right down to the khaki pants
and plaid shirt.
I have my hands in my pockets
and a smile on my face.
There isn’t a hair out of place
and I think the statue takes
off 30 pounds, in scale
model terms.
It was delivered for Holy Humor
Sunday and came a little late,
so the presentation was the 14th.
Everyone laughed with the five or six
co-conspirators who made this happen.
If you haven’t seen it, the statue
is about 8 inches tall, attached to
a pedestal which is maybe 3/8
of an inch tall.
What makes it hilarious
is that it is a bobble head creation.
The head is attached to a spring.
When you touch it, the head
vibrates slightly up and down and
side to side.
You might say it is what I least expected
to happen Sunday.
You might also say, that I am beginning
to expect the unexpected from my
associate, the Reverend Tracy Parker.
I keep wondering in which class at
Seminary she learned such things.
We have had a lot of fun with this since
Sunday. If you haven’t seen it, and want
to, stop by the church office.
Have a laugh at my expense.
I am going to tell my colleagues that
I have had a statue erected in my honor
in Paris. (Honor may be stretching the
truth a bit.)
Keep laughing. It is good for the soul.
Moving to the deeper place,
Jeff
