Late Summer Musings…in no particular order
Lake Carnico – Jim and Katie Haag have, once again, invited the youth out to their home on Lake Carnico for a day of swimming, floating, boating and cooking out before school resumes session. Middle and High school youth are invited…simply show up at the church on Saturday, August 10th at 9:30 a.m. with swimsuit, sunscreen, towel and a change of clothes (life jackets are welcome too!). We’ll take the bus to Carlisle for a day of fun on the lake. We’ll eat lunch together around noon and enjoy more of what we hope is a beautiful day and then return to Paris around 2 p.m. As there will be no lifeguard on duty at the Haag home, parents are most welcome to join in on the fun and help to keep everyone safe….also, any who have lifejackets for us to borrow, those will also be appreciated.
Children Worship & Wonder—Late summer not only brings on the start of a new school year, but also the beginning of another year of Children Worship & Wonder. This program utilizes the Montessori Method of telling Biblical stories and is designed as a worship service geared toward children aged 3 years to 3rd grade. Children not only learn the stories of the Bible, but they learn to articulate a deep spiritual relationship with God and learn the ways in which we enter into conversation with God through worship. We will begin with orientation during worship on Sunday, August 18th. Parents are invited to join us for this first orientation so you can know what to expect of the program and how your child will be worshiping when they separate from you during adult worship.
Blessings,
Tracy
