Reflections
…Tabitha Parker, Emily Cox and Hanson Cox
participated in the mystery dinner Saturday
and were completely into the characters they played.
They handled themselves very well under
questioning from each table of “investigators.
…We welcome Joseph Sievers who came forward
to place his membership with FCC Sunday.
He is the only person to appear on the church
website in a picture with this pastor, both of
us wearing clown noses.
…A generous person recently gave the youth
program $500 to be used however we need
it to benefit the children and youth we serve.
…Marianne Gebhardt transferred her membership
to FCC. Later that day she entered the hospital
and now is the proud owner of a couple of
new stints. Marianne was a nursing instructor
in Huntington, West Virginia. She grows orchids
and has a dog named Louie.
…Thanks to Jeff Miller, Bob Parker and their crew
for providing a tasty dinner and after dinner fun
with the mystery of the cut roses.
…Thanks again to Praise on High which sang on
youth Sunday. Fantastic! They are Myra Miller,
Eric Horine, Bob Parker, Betsy Whitt and Travis Cook.
…Our youth, led by Rev. Tracy Parker, did a
wonderful job leading us in worship on Mother’s
Day. How touching when all the nursery kids
were brought in at the end.
…Eric Horine recently received a promotion at
Kentucky Utilities.
…Jeff Miller has convened a group of men to
work through the study titled Courageous.
About 12 men have committed to the study
which challenges us to be better fathers. Those
participating are, Chad Fuller, Jeff Bell, Jeff
Miller, George Kissick, Travis Cook, Warren
Hickman, Greg Smart, Mark Underwood,
Mac McCracken, Jim Lovell, Joseph Sievers
and Eric Horine.
…Thanks to Ashleigh Lowe who challenged
adults in this congregation to choose
a child to mentor. I have selected mine.
Have you selected yours? See Ashleigh
or Tracy or me to sign up. (All mentors
must have been a member here for at
least a year and pass a background
check).
…Did you know Betsy Whitt, Cathy Vance
and Linda Clinkenbeard just retired from
The Paris and Bourbon County School
Systems?
…Don Spillman will be moving soon and
eventually will be living in Mobile, Ala.,
with his daughter.
Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
