Rock the Boat! at Vacation Bible School

Join us for fun and fellowship as we learn to be followers of Jesus Christ. Come "Rock the Boat" as we learn to live and work in the world to create God's Kingdom on Earth. 

 

Each evening we will be visited by wonderful Biblical characters who bring the story alive as we learn how each followed God's call to work in the world, "Rocking the Boat" and shaking things up. Each character will show us how to live in the world through God's forgiveness, justice, change, peace and love–messages of hope in times past and for our lives today. 

 

This year's mission focus will be raising money for Church World Service's Malaria Net ministry. Donations will be accepted now through June 17th. Mosquitoes carrying malaria are tiny assassins for millions of the world's most vulnerable people. And with malaria infections on the rise, an ordinary mosquito net hung over a bed is a virtual force field. One that can mean the difference between a devastating disease and a promising future. Each net costs $10 and can mean the difference between life and death for children in many parts of the world. Our children will become part of a global family by learning to work together to help the less fortunate and prevent a devastating disease and the ravages it can wreak on families. 

 

Take part in an exciting week beginning Sunday, June 10th at 4:30 p.m. with a potluck meal. First Christian Church will provide the meat and drinks, just bring a dish to share with others. Programming will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. nightly. A meal will be served Monday through Thursday (June 11-14) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening, June 14th will be our celebration event where children and parents will gather together to hear about our exciting week at Vacation Bible School.
