Season of Prayer
I have one request of you. One.
We are developing the chapel into a prayer chapel for the Season of Prayer which will take place throughout the fall or until Advent.
The chapel is barely used, but is a beautifully serene place, removed from noise and foot traffic. There is a picture of Jesus on the wall and back lit stained glass windows.
The artfully crafted kneeling bench was made by our own W.O. Shropshire, who passed away a few years ago. There is a historic pulpit desk from which the early spiritual giants of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) spoke from years ago.
The pews are from the old chapel which was on the first floor for many years.
Now, we are using this space for a Chain of Prayer. Monday through Friday, from 12-2, we invite you to come sit and pray in the chapel. Wednesday from 6-8 the chapel will be open.
We ask that you select a 30 minute segment of time. You may sign up for more if you wish.
The sign-up sheets will be in worship on Sunday and you may sign up before, during or after worship.
When you come to pray, someone will be here to greet you.
We ask that you include the church in your prayers and if you receive particular insights from your prayers, write them down and give them to us.
There will be cards there for the recording of your prayerful thoughts.
Thank you in advance for your willing participation in the Chain of Prayer.
I pray it results in great blessings for you and the church.
Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
