Snippets of information…
My family and I will be away this weekend.
Thus I will not be preaching.
Interestingly, we booked a cabin which happens to have the name Sunday Silence.
You will be in the capable hands of Tracy Parker.
For Jeff’s Journal here are several snippets of information.
+Today, Susan and I celebrate 36 years of marriage. We were married at First Baptist Church in Somerset by Rev. Eldred Taylor and Rev. Robert Gates.
+ Kristy Horine authored two articles in the October edition of the Kentucky Monthly Magazine. You can buy a copy at Wal Mart.
+The Executive Committee met to suggest how the bequest from Maxie Swinford should be allocated. Maxie expressed in her will that the money not be included in the Living Memorial Fund. She wanted her money to be put to work meeting current need. We have attempted to honor her wishes. The Board will vote on these recommendations.
+Please support the Luau this Saturday. It is a wonderful time of food, fun, fellowship and music. Your contribution will help fund much needed Technology updates.
+The Disciples 101 class continues to meet. Every time I have the privilege of telling the story of First Christian and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) remember how blessed I am to be a part of such a church which is not the biggest or the loudest, but is a church which really tries to follow Jesus and serve his people.
+Hanson Cox and Collin Hertzenberg are a part of the Bourbon County football team which is undefeated and ranked sixth in their division this week.
+The Bourbon County Colonel Marching Band produced two grand championships in one day this last weekend. Haley Smart, Cameron Smart, Anna Cox, Kaitlyn Jones and Sarah Jones are members of the band.
+The 31 company which sells purses and other designer bags in home gatherings, is based on Proverbs 31. Tyree Toohey is a national leader in the company.
+Judy Otte and Barbara Wilson attended the Duck Dynasty appearance at Rupp Arena last weekend. Several members of the Duck Dynasty family told personal stories of how faith has transformed their lives.
Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
