Spend Christmas with Mary
Have you ever imagined how Mary viewed the life of Christ? Imagine Jesus from Mary’s point of view—proud of her son, in awe of his gifts and mission, guided by love for him as a person and so much more. This year’s Advent study will be Not a Silent Night: Mary Looks Back to Bethlehem, by Adam Hamilton.
Hamilton begins at the end, with Mary at the Crucifixion and Resurrection; travels back in time as she witnesses Jesus’ life and ministry; and ends at the beginning, with the Christ Child born in a stable, Mary’s beautiful baby. This year, experience Advent and Christmas with Mary as we take on another Intergenerational Sunday School journey. Each Sunday, during our study hour (9:30-10:30 a.m.) we will gather in Fellowship Hall to watch a video and then break out into our Sunday School groups to have small group discussions. There is a book which goes along with the study and enhances our learning experiences. You can purchase the book for $13 through the church, download a version for your e-reader for about $11 or borrow one from our church library. Please let us know in the church office if you would like to reserve a book as we will have a limited number to offer.
Blessings,
Tracy
