Sunday, March 16 ~ Prayer, Praise & Enemies
~~Psalm 18:1-3
I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, so I shall be saved from my enemies.
~~Here David has won the battle over his enemies, he sings praise and thanksgiving to God. Can you do the same?
When you are victorious, with whom do you rejoice? Do you tell God thanks for carrying you through? Is He your refuge, your fortress, and deliverer? Where does your trust lie?
I call upon the Lord every hour that I am awake. I know I can’t take a breath without him, He is my deliverer, my refuge, my fortress. He lifts me up and carried me through every obstacle that is thrown in my way. I let God lead the way and I follow, I have put ALL my trust in Him, my enemies are defeated before they start.
I had a car wreck on Lexington Road, June 21, 1995. I knew that morning that I would not make it back home, that I would be in a wreck before the day’s end. I was hit at Terry’s Corner coming back from Lexington. I was blinded in my right eye, both hands were bruised so bad I couldn’t use them for weeks. My knees were torn and had to have surgery, one within days and the other knee a year later. My hip was out of place, and I still see a chiropractor today for this problem.
I rejoice that the Lord was there. Someone kept saying to get the other person out of the car, but when they looked in they found only me. A lady dressed in white brought a cold rag for my forehead, and she saw a person in the back seat. The paramedics even asked if I was alone. I said yes, but I knew God was there.
There to carry me through. Today, tomorrow, ALWAYS
