Totally Rad 80s Prom Gone Bad!
Remember that Totally Tubular decade, the 80s? Big Hair? Shoulder Pads? Neon? Rubik’s Cubes, Pac-Man, MTV and Care Bears? What about those movie greats: Back to the Future, Dirty Dancing, E.T., Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Ghost Busters, The Goonies, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo’s Fire? And the music: Madonna, Boy George, Duran-Duran, Cyndi Lauper, Prince, Toto, Heart, Pat Benatar, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, Hall & Oates, Rick Springfield, The Bangles, Joan Jett, etc…an entire decade of dance greats!
If you loved the 80s as much as the rest of us, then you have another chance to relive those carefree, narcissistic days of old at this year’s Murder Mystery Dinner hosted by the youth of First Christian Church. Each youth participating in this year’s mission trip to Jamaica will take on a character and play it to the hilt for your entertainment sleuthing!
Enjoy a meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, macaroni and cheese, salad, dessert and drinks for the economical price of $10 per adult and $5 for children 12 and under. Not a bad deal for the average family.
Church members will gather around tables for fellowship and dining while each character visits to discuss the drama of the day, the possible prom court picks and their hopes and dreams for the future. You join in with your table group in trying to figure out this who-done-it adventure. Prizes will be awarded for those who guess the villain correctly.
Prizes will also be awarded for cast members performances, so you also get to cast your votes for the most authentic characters…all while helping our youth have fun and raise money for their mission trip to Jamaica!
Join us after worship on Sunday, May 15th for dinner and a mystery for a great cause!
Blessings,
Tracy
