What is the Holy Spirit?

 

The Holy Spirit descended on Jesus when he came up out of the waters of baptism.

Mark wrote that the Spirit descended on him like a dove.

The dove has come to represent the Holy Spirit, peace and hope.

But what is the Holy Spirit? I believe the Holy Spirit is what leads us to see the world and  the people in it as God sees them.

Using five dollar words, receiving the Holy Spirit, helps us think and act theologically.

Is that just a tree I see outside my window or is it part of God’s creation?

Seeing the world through God’s eyes, makes a difference in our patterns of gratitude and in how we see each other.
