I am glad I do not have all the answers.

“What?” you say.

Yes, I am glad that I do not have the absolute, last word on everything.

Oh, I have my thoughts and opinions, my informed, thoughtful “revelations.”

If I had the all the answers, then I could ignore the Holy Scriptures. I would  no longer need to pull the Bible off the shelf, open it to the gospels and immerse myself in discovering the contemporary will of God for my life and yours.

If I had all the answers, I would no longer need to listen to you, learn from  you, engage you in conversation.

If I had all the answers,  I…would…be…God.

And that would be the ultimate and final  heresy.

I am not God and neither are you.

Within us is the spark of the divine. We are holy and beloved.

This is glorious news.

I love to discover the good news with you.

I hope you love to discover the good news with me.
