Youth Missions Fundraisers

Grab your chef’s hat and dust off your best chili recipes!  On December 6, following worship, we’re going to have a Chili Cook-Off and Desserts Auction to help raise money for the Youth Mission Trip to Jamaica! Awards will be given for Spiciest, Most Creative and People’s Choice.
        Additionally, we are looking for donations of dessert items to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The youth will also offer themselves up for auction. Do you need child care? Do you need help putting up all those Christmas Decorations? Or taking them down after the holidays? Maybe you’d like to finally clean out the garage or basement. Weather permitting, you could even get some projects done around the yard that you’ve been putting off. Whatever the work, our youth are willing to lend a hand!
     Our kids are excited about the opportunities for mission work abroad and eager to work hard to get there. We will be working with a group called ACE. American Caribbean Experience is a Christ-based outreach ministry dedicated to community transformation in the parish of St. Mary, Jamaica through strategic initiatives in education, enterprise,  healthcare and discipleship. Their ethos enables volunteers to join in its outreach through a variety of hands-on experiences. Individuals and groups from all over the world go to Jamaica to volunteer their talents and know-how, which helps provide self-sustaining solutions to local problems, and in turn, empowers the people of St. Mary to help themselves. The take-away lessons from this trip and this program will serve these youth for a lifetime. Please lend your support to their efforts.
      And, as a way to remember that outreach begins at home, our youth will also focus their efforts on local mission projects throughout the year, here in Bourbon County and in Central KY. With each project they are reminded how their efforts represent Christ’s love in the world and how they can actively be a part of God’s kingdom work…they learn first-hand how they can be the hands, feet and heart of Christ in a broken world.
