Baptism.

   "Just a little water,"

      you might say.

Baptism 

   Just sopping wet for a few minutes."

   What's the big deal?

 

So, let's say it's just water.

   But life would not exist without water.

   When NASA goes looking for

      life on other planets

   they look first for water.

Dehydration is a serious condition.

   Water is life.

   Our bodies are 70% water.

Water cleanses, is home to a host of living things.

Water/moisture makes food edible,

   puts out fires and facilitates play.

 

So, It's just water, we use in baptism.

   One of the essential elements

      for life.

 

And when Jesus allowed John

   to lower him into the water

   to be baptized, he said,

   "These are living waters."

 

To find a new life

   and be forgiven for the old one,

   Jesus was saying to all humanity,

   "Come on in, the water's fine."
