World Outreach Committee Collecting Items for Soldiers Serving in Afghanistan

In honor of Veteran's Day the World Outreach Committee will be collecting items to send to soldiers in Afghanistan who do not receive packages from home. Suggested items are as follows: stationary, personal hygiene items, non-perishable food items such as beef jerky, nabs, hard candy or candy that won't melt, heat-and-eat foods, cookies, and most snack items. Sodas can be sent, but must be in aluminum cans.

Items can be dropped off in collection boxes which are located in the Fellowship Hall.

Letters of love and encouragement are also nice items to include. Children may want to write notes or draw pictures to brighten someone's day as they serve our country. Items that remind soldiers of home can go a long way to raising troop morale.
