FCC Info…

Chalice+ We voted at the Board meeting to plant a tree on our lot next door. It seemed like no big deal. It was just a tree. But that tree will grow. Its roots will plunge deep into the soil seeking nourishment and water. The trunk and branches will raise high in praise to the One who created it. Birds will make nests there. Shade will comfort, oxygen will be produced, beauty will be observed.

+ There is a gathering in Lexington on May15th at 3 p.m. The experience is called Restoration 200: the Revival of Unity, Liberty and Love. This gathering will bring together three branches of the restoration movement around the old courthouse in downtown Lexington just blocks from where Barton Stone and followers of Alexander Campbell shook hands and formed the movement which becomes the largest Christian movement founded on American soil. This brings together the Independent Christian Church, the Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with preachers from each movement speaking that day. Make plans to attend.

+ The Renewal Team is moving into the phase where other members of the congregation will be invited to join them in discerning future directions for FCC. Choose from three sub-teams to join: Prayer, Worship and Evangelism/Outreach.

+ Please welcome Harry and Carol Callebs to our family of faith. They joined on April 10th after worshipping with us for several years. They are good friends and neighbors of Betty Jo Garrison.

+ Plans are being made to expand the nursery for anticipated future growth in the life of our church.

+ Remember, we are challenging you to try "tithing" giving 10% of your income to the church for the month of April. As always, please prayerfully and thoughtfully consider your ability to do this. No person will know whether you   do this or not.

Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
