Grace

graceYou never know where grace moments will happen in the life of the church.
Here are a few I have observed through the years.

…Thirteen youth gather to “take a class” on life choices and financial responsibility.
…professionals in the church doing work for other church members at a deep discount or for free.
…a delightful young woman, about ready to give birth, being ordained as an elder.
…Tully Williams automatically removing snow and ice from our parking lot, usually within hours of it falling.
…Community Bible Study folks wanting to invite others to join them on Wednesday mornings.
…Excitement as we approach the Lenten season.
…Our fifteenth combined worship with 7th Street with a meal to follow.
…Youth who are new to C.Y.F. showing up in worship.
…Worshippers who never sang in worship, now singing in worship.
…A new men’s group arising not from the efforts of the ministerial staff, but from the men themselves.
…Someone calling the church wanting to do something nice for the church to honor someone who has been kind to their family.
…a bequest already being used to help retire debt, promote outreach and address building repair needs.
…leaders who are sensitive to staff needs and performance.
…a church who takes a leadership role with community ministries such as The Well and Operation Food Basket.
…a church staff that works well together — everyday.
…being able to produce a weekly newsletter when many churches have gone to monthly newsletters.

So many moments of grace, there are too many to mention all of them.

Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
