Repentance
Repentance
(Lenten theme for the week)
Repentance does not necessarily mean
weeping, abject remorse
or self-loathing.
But it could mean these things, I suppose.
Think of repentance as a change of mind,
a reflection of the heart or a renewing
of the soul.
Consider repentance as refreshment,
resting in God, soaking up the Spirit.
There is a path to gain insight,
to become aware of a more excellent way.
Come to terms with your own limited
way of understanding this life.
Consider ideas you do not understand
which contain seeds of rich and abundant
wisdom which you presently have not
allowed yourself to access.
See something from
another person’s perspective.
Get into their way of seeing things.
Ask questions, listen intently.
I regularly wonder what I have “missed”
by simply living my routine and not
considering other ways of walking
this wondrous journey we have been given.
There are subjects you may think I have achieved a
measure of advanced spiritual knowledge,
which in fact, I am still struggling to master
the way Jesus would want me to master
this faithful knowledge.
However you approach the faith,
repentance is necessary to fully access
the way of the cross.
Repent and watch Jesus go about saving you.
Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
