  • Our guest speaker this year will be Brad Bell…

Brad Bell is originally from Monticello, KY. He attended the University of the Cumberlands and worked as a youth minister during his time in college. He was very active in Chrysalis / Emmaus Walks in the Lake Cumberland Area. After graduating from college, he was the guest speaker for a small scale RUSH event held at First United Methodist Church in Paris. His message and presentation changed lives during the weekend.

His next stop was China to “smuggle” in Bibles for a Christian community. Although this was potentially dangerous, Brad saw it as his duty to help bring the Word to the people who wanted and needed it. After his short term trip to China, his calling came to be a missionary to Africa. He spent about 3 years in Ethiopia doing mission work among many tribal and Islamic religions. The work was sometimes very difficult, resistance made discipleship difficult, but during his time he was able to share the Gospel with people and formed a few small groups to continue growing and reaching others for Christ.

Brad moved back to Kentucky in August 2011. In October he married Katie and they now live in Louisville, KY. Although he was offered a slew of youth ministry and senior pastor positions, Brad has elected to spend his first year with his wife, away from the added pressure of being in full-time ministry. He and his wife work for Chic-Fil-A, full-time and he enjoys having the opportunity to do free-lance evangelism as opportunities arise. Brad and Katie are super-excited to be coming to RUSH and we are truly blessed to have them come share their stories and the Gospel with the youth of our community.

Please feel free to join us for any or all of these events and encourage your teen to join us in worshiping and fellowshipping with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ within the Bourbon County Community.

Blessings,
Tracy
