Rise up…
Each individual Christian in each new age of the church has to make a return to the source of the Christian life. — Thomas Merton
The spiritual life is an everyday decision.
You would not think of living through the day without eating.
The inspiring presence of the Spirit is constantly moving upon our souls to reveal, restore, renew, revitalize and replenish.
We discover new ways of listening, discovering and being made new.
New.
We love it and we dread it.
We must learn about the new and deal with its implications.
We love sliding behind the wheel of a new car. Then we realize there is GPS, Sirius XM radio, Bluetooth wireless, auto braking, auto parking, computers throughout the systems and more.
We love the new and we dread it.
We love the idea of being renewed by the spirit and we hate it.
With all the stresses and strains of life, we want to allow some things to just slide on by.
The call of faith does not allow for sliding on by. Faith is meant to adapt and address the fresh challenges we face each day.
We must rise to meet the spirit which is at work within us.
Moving to the deeper places,
Jeff
