Saturday, March 29 ~ Heaven, Our Place

~~John 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.

~~Amid the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives, we are always worried about our ‘place.’ Where do we belong? Do we fit in? Who are my friends?
We usually feel out of ‘place’ when traveling to a new country, starting a new job, moving to a new community, or meeting new people. Often we wonder, “Where is my place or where exactly do I belong?”
Growing up in a small community in Southeastern Kentucky, I couldn’t wait to leave! I was sure my ‘place’ was in a big city! After two years in Dallas, Texas, I decided I was in the wrong ‘place’, so I moved back home. Four years later my ‘place’ was Lexington and graduate school. Not long after, I married Kirk and my ‘place’ has been Paris for the past twenty-two years. Over those years I have had two careers and four jobs. Each time I was certain I had found my ‘place.’
Although we may struggle in our daily lives to find our place, isn’t it wonderful God always has a place for us! With Him we never have to wonder, “Do I fit in, or do I belong?” With Him there is always love, acceptance and forgiveness, many of the things we seek on a daily basis.
In John 14:3 we read,
And If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.
Aren’t we blessed that with God, through Christ, we always have a Place?
