Who Can Show Us the Way to Bethlehem?

     For the season of Advent Worship & Wonder teaches the children that this is the time we get ready to celebrate the mystery of Christmas, the time we are ALL on our way to Bethlehem. We ask each week, "who will show us the way?" and a new character is presented to show us the way to Bethlehem.

     The Prophets listen to God and speak the word of God and show us the way to Bethlehem. The Holy Family shows us the way to Bethlehem by reminding us not to be afraid, but to be joyful on our way. The Shepherds show us the way to Bethlehem by reminding us of the Good News, a Savior, the special Son of God, is born. The Magi show us the way to Bethlehem by reminding us of God's gift of Christ the newborn king. 

     As I wander through the mystery of Christmas this year I wonder a few things: I wonder if there are people in our lives who are prophets speaking the word of God; I wonder if there are times when we forget the joyfulness of the season; I wonder if the special Son of God is our focus as we travel to Bethlehem this holiday season; I wonder if we are truly grateful for this wonderful gift of God's Son; I wonder who else can show us the way to Bethlehem.

May Peace, Hope, Joy and Love guide us this season as we travel to Bethlehem together.
