Summer Fun Week

Summer can't get by us without gathering for a few good times!

As church camps, vacations and band camp takes up so much of our time during summer and we miss gathering with our youth groups we've decided to reclaim 1 week (a short week) for youth activities in the month of July! July 5th through 8th we’ll have a different youth outing for each day. These outings are for Chi-Rho and CYF youth only (5th grade and younger had a week of fun at Vacation Bible School). Youth entering the 6th grade this fall are encouraged to join us so we can begin making memories and friendships together!

  • July 5th we will travel to Christian Care Communities in Corbin, KY to visit with the elderly. We’ll leave early and have a picnic lunch at Cumberland Falls and then be at CCC by 1 p.m. Please meet at the church at 10 a.m. We will return from our journey by 5 p.m.
  • July 6th we will travel to Lake Carnico and be the guests of Jim and Katie Haag for an afternoon of swimming in the lake and grilling out (if you cannot swim you must wear a life jacket and your parent will determine this rule!) We will meet at the church at 2:30 p.m. and return by 7 p.m.
  • July 7th we will visit The Well and learn about their ministries then we’ll travel out to Cane Ridge for a picnic lunch and a few hours of service work. We will meet at the church at 10:30 a.m. and will return by 4 p.m.
  • July 8th we have been invited by Jeff and Myra Miller to be guests in their home where they will feed us fabulous food and then we’ll have an evening Game Night. We will meet at the church at 6 p.m. and walk to the Miller home and youth can be picked up at 9 p.m.

Please, Please, Please! Take part in each day’s activities (don’t skip out on the work part)—working together builds important bonds and serving the community and the world is an important part of how we live our faith.

YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING FRIENDS!!

Please keep in mind the activities of the day and dress appropriately. If we are working outside, wear close-toed shoes, sunscreen and bug repellant. If we are playing outside, bring proper attire and wear sunscreen. If the weather does not cooperate, we will adjust our activities as necessary.

Blessings,

Tracy
